UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON
By a way of introduction, please let's note this;
If our parents had consciously built in us right values from the day we are born until we became independent from them; then we also continuing in that until now, we would far be better than we currently are.
The reason we need to constantly subject our minds to series of transformational teachings is because of the effort required to shift us away from a Mental conditioning that has grown with us.
That's why the average humans would need to listen to something for about seven times before it sinks. Repetition is a password in the matters of mastery.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON
An Ecclesiastical portion of a book talks about time for everything and that helps us gain an understanding into the Changeability of virtually everything on earth's surface - Including humans.
A particular time to be born, a particular time to die. A particular time to gather, and a particular time to scatter. UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON.
Now as humans, it is important to know that our lives has been segmented into seasons Just as nature experiences Summer and Winter or Rainy and Dry season.
A tree even has a time when its leafs fall off and its trunk gets dried.
These seasons actually capture the variability and dynamism of all created things. That in a way helps us acknowledge that humans also have Times and Seasons.
When you were born, you were in a season of total dependency where you are not responsible for the course of your life. You are currently reading this because you are in another season of life where you can't but read for a sure change in level. Nevertheless, another reality is that we'll get old. That's another season.
Interestingly, Each season has its own peculiarities and features. You see, that is so important. Ignorance is a huge disability - you know by now. Ignorance will make a man envious of the season of another man. Someone who is just starting out in the football career if not careful, might be envious of a renowned football professional. We live in a world where those who hasn't paid the prices envy those who had. Many people pierce themselves with so much sorrows just because of this inability to discern times and seasons.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON
Please know that you are independently accountable to God.
You and your best friend don't have same dealings with God. I remembered while in my 100level, I had an intimate friend. We would both would go out to the restaurant to relax. He was from a rich background while I was managing - big time.(lols). He doesn't cook and that made me a lazy too. So we would constantly go to KFC to have our meals
As at then, we would spend about N500 to N1000 for snacks and more for soft drinks. At a point I obviously couldn't cope. While he didn't feel a thing. The worst thing is that "he doesn't pay for me o" (After all he didn't "send me come") lols. So I became broke. What's the lesson?
I was simply trying to live in a season I wasn't in.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON
Sir, every money that enters into your hand isn't an indication that you've arrived.
My students were talking about how they'll wanna get some latest cars after secondary school and I told them that even if someone currently gives me an aircraft, i will reject it.
God is a loving Father, He will never choke us with blessing we ain't prepared for. Our readiness is not based on our decision. No!
He Himself detects when we are ready for a new level. We cry at crusade grounds...
"Loooord, I am ready, please use me"
"Loooord, I am ready, oya give me that thing". A song writer(Nathaniel Bassey) wrote; "You've got time and seasons in your hands". Knowing your season will save you lots of headache and heartaches
Oh, you have only one shoe right? No problem! My brother, wear it with joy. If it tears sew it again! Sew it again!
No money to buy another yet? Ooohh come on go and sew that thing my friend!
You have just Garri to soak at night?
Sister, soak it with joy. Please soak it!
With the assurance and understanding of the reality of your current season
For when the Leafs wither, it would become green again. Its a matter of time.
Hear this, Never allow people pity you out of your Season!
Sometimes Bro, God will even empower you to trek long distances.
See, he designed the muscles of your legs to be strong for a reason. Com on....Treck!
Are we saying we should have a poverty mentality? Far from it! Never!This is the season when you can go through some thick and thins....the youthful season!
When trekking and the devil allow some yahoo guys flash in their jeeps beside you, and the devil whispers to you...
"see your life. See your mate. You'll trek till you die if you don't wise up"
Tighten your fist, screeeeeeam in your mind and say "shut up you liar!"
Lady, your skirt is torn....stitch it....stitch it again! And while you do this, keep telling God.
"I know you've got times and seasons in your hands" kai!
I was at a program where the man on the Mic emphasised that "Everyone has a pillow of suffering on his head", and that the pillow is used for carrying challenges.
The best time to wear and tear out that pillow is now that we are young.
Have you seen those old men who stays at the gate?
What were they doing while they were young?
Some of them dig wells.
What were they doing at their youthful season? UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON
Never mistaken your seed time for your harvest time. Discern!
So many ladies had so pancaked and lived fake lives that their destiny helper had assumed they are "big girls" already who need no help. While they walk past last them daily.
Their is a sure protocol/principle of success in God. And that's the necessity of Suffering before Glory. Story before Glory! See, all those storms ain't to break you dear. They will eventually make you strong!
Bro, sometimes you might need to go knocking from door to door and asking if you can mow their grasses. Our society has made us think that is embarrassment... No bro. It is not!
You are fulfilling scriptures...
"Let him that is lazy to work not eat".
"whatever your hands find to do, do with all your energy"
God sees you Sir. Challenges are the food champions feed on Imagine scripture even saying "rejoice, when you fall into diverse temptations". Why? Because they work within us Patience.
You are not married yet...and your mates are flaunting their rings. Rejoice but don't worried dear.
*UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON*
Ask yourself, what season are you in. Some of us need to run anytime marriage is being discussed. Because our current season is far from marriage.
Is this your season for sowing or that of Harvest? When you sow, you don't smile brother. People sow in sweats. UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON
I'll beg us under God, that we carefully take an assessment of our friends or those who influence us. Are you in the same season?
See, its very hard to walk with people who ain't in your Season. If care is not taken, you will assume you're going through similar season and they will soon draw you out of your season. Many of us are even fasting and praying out of our ordained season.
May we gain Understanding in knowing and accepting our seasons.

OPEN YOUR EYES AND DREAM!
OPEN YOUR EYES AND DREAM!
You know, very early this morning, I was brewing on some thoughts. I'll caption it *DREAM BIG*
Dreams here are not the ones you have while sleeping. They are the ones you have while being awake. They keep you awake instead. I'll just start by telling you about a young boy who had eleven other brothers. He happens to be the ninth amidst them all. They were so poor that they slept on bare floor. Hardly was there sufficient to eat. You can keep imagining what a world it was for him. But anytime he lays to sleep, he sees something different. He sees himself speaking to thousands of thousands. He sees himself in his private airspace. He see himself with enough food to eat and building edifice for God. This is the story of the renowned Late Dr. Myles Munroe. He eventually died surpassing all those dreams. Dreams are powerful. An Afro-American singer, Tupac Shakur said...
"Reality is wrong, Dreams are for Real".
Do you have a dream for your life? One thing common to all is the power to dream. Infact, it is not religiously biased. Remember the men who built the Tower of Babel. They were so sure of their dreams and they kept on. God made a statement that is profound; "None of their imaginations will be withheld from them". Interestingly, dreams are for free. You don't pay a dime to get one. All you need is just your mind. Don't confuse the will of God please.
I met a bro who was drafting a powerful idea on how to organize a business better. Wow! I was amazed. But he said he doesn't think God want him do that. I took a deep breathe. Some ideas are divinely inspired (the HolySpirit advantage). Dream! The first thing is to discover your purpose. Then in accordance with your purpose, Dream! Imagine great things. Scriptures says in Ephesians 3:20, "...unto Him who is able to do what we ask or Think! In Africa, we have many askers than thinkers. We need to See Thinking as part of prayer. I don't mean worrying. When we pray for 1hour, we do the whole talking non-stop. Then we feel we've achieved. Question is, did you take a pause? Did you observe any idea in your mind while praying?
Mensah Otabil told me he was with Bishop Oyedepo at Ota. So he asked Bishop what was done in a particularly room. Bishop said with a smile; "that's my thinking room". what! A thinking room? Ordinary people don't do that. How did Pastor Eneche build the Dome which is the Largest on the earth surface, according to the engineers? He first Imagined it. God Himself practises imagination. Salvation package was first an imagination before it was played out. Stop living life casually. In the next 5years, what do you see? 10year, 20years? 30years? Heeeeey...stop saying "I would be married, with my beautiful kids in my house"
"...even the gentiles say that". (Lols). Boko Haram members would say the same thing. So, What's your Dream? Have dreams please. Lady, when he approaches you. Ask him "what's your dream? "Don't let him tell you "you don't have Faith" (that's bullying). He might even quote scriptures and say, "Even God told Abraham 'let's go', and he obeyed". Tell him, you're not Abraham or Sarah biko. Write this vison, make it plain. What is your vision? This is important because it will serve as your driving force. Brother, ask her too! If she tells you, "dear, I'm planning that we just have one kisok where we'll be selling biscuits and sheeewinggum".Ah! Brother, "ise ya". You've got lots of work to do. Roll your sleeves and start enlarging her mind. She's too small for your height. She'll pull you down. I love Fela Durotoye. He is an example of a cultivator. Tara Durotoye wasn't the woman she is now. She used to be small in thinking and life. Fela came into her life and made a difference. Fela said, "I made her the picture I saw her to be". Now she's a perfect match even fit to be a President's wife. We are not talking about another Patience J. here. (Kidding). We all know the great iconic *House of Tara* brand. So dream! Dear Lady, if your husband is a small thinker, you'll soon be in church dreaming for your pastor. Of course God has wired women to be helpers of dreams primarily. They wanna help. But you need to create the vision for them. Bro Dream! Every innovations were dreams. You think you are technologically savvy? You just wait for your grandchildren. You will be shocked how lost you'll be technological-wise. While you were sleeping from 9pm to 7am(10hours), someone was busy thinking on how to make the next product that will consume your money. The truth is that things will change. Our grandparents felt like heaven when they got their "tortoise cars" Where is it today? So dream! Dream on the kinds of Kids you wanna have. What will make them different from "as on omo wobe" or "the shakushaku kids"? Dream about their courtesy level. Dream about what culture you'll imbibe in them. Dream about the impact you wanna make. Dream about your legacy to the legacy to the world. Your company and your happy staff. Dream! dream! dream! "Fantasize" about them. Pray them! Redraft it pertime. I can't tell how much I redraft my visions in a year. I tell those close to me over and over till they are tired. And the beautiful thing is that the are consistent. They aren't different form one another... Rather, they get enlarged. That's the Spirit! And when you dream, please don't hang around pessimists. They'll always tell you it can't work. They'll be like, "Ahhhh...you want to go into poultry? Hmm it's good oh..erm. But can't you try something else? Cause fowls easily die in this community oh. I'm just telling you ni o". Ruuuuuuuunnnn from them.Never to return.
When you dream, read and fees your mind with books and Biographies of those who had achieved what you wanna achieve. Infact I wanna recommend "Ibukun Awosika's biography to those interested in the furniture business. (Or everyone). Wow! You'll be inspired. You must learn to read biographies alot. Read success stories. That's why I once said, "boredom is for those who haven't discovered purpose". See when you truly grab purpose, boredom will be bored. Infact, it will die. Ahan...how will you be bored? When you can't even explore all it takes to be what you wanna be. Oyedepo said he studied several biographies and history of top schools before launching Covenant University. This is no joke. Some people will say, I'm bored jare....i have been at home all day. Ah! I'm almost angry right now. A whole you. Bored? Lols. If you understand how small 24hours is to your lifetime and to what you need to achieve, you'll jack up. I was privileged to be at the last Youth Alive. I got there late but the ONLY word which I heard from Bishop Abioye's mouth is this... *Once you are awake from sleep, GET UP!* Chai! It was like fire in my bones. Some of us wake up and keep feeling the texture of the bedsheets. We stretch in 360° dimensions. We rehearse how best to get up from bed. For 20mins, we are still there. We close our eyes again... We fold like sharwa fish again.. We cover ourselves again with the duvet... Looks like enjoyment shey? You better stop that! Ahhh....as a youth! Wait! That's what our parents did and they didn't soar. And we wanna do the same? Never! When we die, our body will sleep forever I discovered a mystery. This body (flesh) ehn van be tricky. It knows he isn't going to heaven with us, so it always wanna make us feel weak and lazy so we just get so useless. Paul, the Apostle said...I beat(pummel, subject)my body and bring it UNDER subjection. So Dream!
I'm honored you stood tuned!

The Choleric
Cholerics are characterized by the element of Fire, the season of Summer, early adulthood, the color fiery red, Mars, and the characteristics of "Hot" and "Dry." The animal used to symbolize the Choleric is the lion.
Role
In our distant ancestors, the choleric members of the pack would be the alphas, the leaders. They would command their subordinates, and assert their dominance using force. If challenged, they would respond by getting angry, larger, in order to intimidate and to prove that they were the strongest, the most fit to lead.
In current society, they often tend towards leadership roles, such as managers, politicians, captains, team leaders, and so on, though not necessarily. In fantasy, they might be the proud warriors, the esteemed Kings.
Domination
Cholerics people strive to be leaders and directors. They always seek to be in control of situations, to be on top, to be the best. This doesn't necessarily mean that they are all driven to reach the top of the corporate ladder on global scale, or that they all want to have leadership roles, but the tendency for being on top of everything is prevailing in day-to-day interactions with other people.
They use imperative, commanding language, wording things as orders rather than requests. They are firm and forceful in their approach to problems. They believe in “tough love” and try to “help” others by challenging them to prove themselves, as they themselves would.
Most bullies are choleric, but few cholerics are bullies. Many will in fact stand up to those who bully others, rather than letting them get away with things. Their confidence and demanding natures make them natural leaders, though this doesn't mean that they would necessarily enjoy leadership positions; they're just more likely to take charge if necessary rather than fumbling around worrying.
They will “challenge” others aggressively in order to show their respect for the person's strength. They believe that it is important to “prove oneself”. They are driven by a desire to prove themselves greater than whoever they're arguing with, to assert that they are right, rather than to reach some kind of truth or compromise. They can lie in order to maintain the dominant position. The argument is about them more so than the issue; a battle of egos rather than a quest for truth. They love competition... but hate to lose.
They are defiant of authority, challenging them as if to knock them off the top spot and assert their own dominance as the alpha of this pack, the leader of this tribe.
They can be very condescending to those that they look down upon. They may take pleasure in the pain, misfortune, or humiliation of people they are not on good terms with. This is because it brings them pleasure to feel superior to others. They feel that they can define and understand and advise others, but laugh at the thought that others could do the same to them. This is because analyzing and defining another puts you in the superior position, while being defined would put them in the inferior position, which they resist.
Extroverted
Cholerics are extroverted in the sense that they will meddle in others' affairs and “speak their mind” if they feel it is necessary, rather than minding their own business. They generally respond well to new situations, and seek thrills. They must prove that they are strong. They speak their mind, but often don't mind their speech.
Their pride and drive for dominance, as well as their open expression of emotion, naturally leads to outright aggression when challenged. They will raise their voices and get angry to show that they are the biggest and strongest, and to assert superiority. They are pragmatic, doing what needs to be done bluntly rather than worrying about fantasy scenarios.
They will plough through obstacles that bar their path and they are single-minded in moving towards their goals.
Main advantages
In brief, people of choleric temperament possess multiple strengths:
* Born leader
* Dynamic and active
* Compulsive need for change
* Must correct wrongs
* Strong-willed and decisive
* Unemotional
* Not easily discouraged
* Independent and self sufficient
* Exudes confidence
Choleric people are people of enthusiasm; they are not satisfied with the ordinary and crave for great success in all life affairs: large fortunes, a vast business, an elegant home, a distinguished reputation or a predominant position. The natural virtue of the choleric is ambition; his desire to excel and succeed despises the little and vulgar, and aspires to the noble and heroic.
In his aspiration for great things the choleric is supported by:
1. A keen intellect. The choleric person is not always, but usually endowed with considerable intelligence.
2. A strong will. The choleric person is not frightened by difficulties, but in case of obstacles shows his energy so much the more and perseveres also under great difficulties until he has reached his goal.
3. Strong passions. The choleric is very passionate. Whenever the choleric is bent upon carrying out his plans or finds opposition, he is filled with passionate excitement.
4. An often times subconscious impulse to dominate others and make them subservient. The choleric is made to rule. He feels happy when he is in a position to command, to draw others to him, and to organize large groups.
Main disadvantages
As usual, strengths are coming hand-in-hand with particular weaknesses for choleric person:
* Can be bossy and impatient.
* Quick tempered, can’t relax and can be too impetuous.
* Enjoy controversy and arguments and won’t give up when losing.
* Can come on too strong, are inflexible and uncomplimentary.
* Unemotional and are generally unsympathetic.
* Can dominate situations, are too busy for your family and will often give answers too quickly.
* Impatient with perceived poor performance and have little tolerance for mistakes.
* Does not analyze details or get bogged down by trivia, often making rash decisions.
* Can be perceived as rude and tactless and can often manipulate people.
* Can be demanding of others and believes that the end justifies the means.
* Work may become the driving force in their life and demand loyalty in the ranks.
* Make decisions on other people’s behalf.
* Can be perceived to know everything.
Pride, anger, and lack of compassion which is considered as the main traits of choleric personality may show itself in the multiple instances:
1. The choleric is full of himself. He has a great opinion of his good qualities and his successful work and considers himself as something extraordinary and as one called upon to perform great feats. He considers even his very defects as being justified, nay, as something great and worthy of praise; for instance, his pride, his obstinacy, his anger.
2. The choleric is very stubborn and opinionated. He thinks he is always right, wants to have the last word, tolerates no contradiction, and is never willing to give in.
3. The choleric has a great deal of self-confidence. He relies too much upon his own knowledge and ability. He refuses the help of others and prefers to work alone, partly because he does not like to ask for help, partly because he believes that he is himself more capable than others and is sure to succeed without the help of others.
4. The choleric usually despises his fellow man. To his mind others are ignorant, weak, unskilled, slow, at least when compared with himself. He shows his contempt of his neighbor by despising, mocking, making belittling remarks about others and by his proud behavior toward those around him, especially toward his subjects.
5. The choleric is domineering and inordinately ambitious. He wants to hold the first place, to be admired by others, to subject others to himself. He belittles, combats, even persecutes by unfair means those who dare to oppose his ambition.
6. The choleric feels deeply hurt when he is humiliated or put to shame.
7. The choleric is vehemently excited by contradiction, resistance, and personal offenses. This excitement manifests itself in harsh words which may seem very decent and polite as far as phrasing is concerned, but hurt to the core by the tone in which they are spoken. Nobody can hurt his fellow man with a few words more bitterly than a choleric person. Things are made even worse by the fact that the choleric in his angry impetuosity makes false and exaggerated reproaches, and may go so far in his passion, as to misconstrue the intentions and to pervert the words of those who irritated him, thus, blaming with the sharpest of expressions, faults which in reality were not committed at all. By such injustice, which the choleric inflicts in his anger upon his neighbor he can offend and alienate even his best friends. The choleric may even indulge in furious outbursts of anger. His anger easily degenerates into hatred. Grievous offenses he cannot forget. In his anger and pride he permits himself to be drawn to actions which he knows will be very detrimental to himself and to others; for instance, ruin of his health, his work, his fortune, loss of his position, and complete rupture with intimate friends. By reason of his pride and anger he may totally ignore and cast aside the very plans for the realization of which he has worked for years.
8. Lack of sympathy. The choleric is a man of reason. He has two heads but no heart. This lack of human sentiment and sympathy is, in a way, of great advantage to him. He does not find it hard to be deprived of sensible consolations in prayer and to remain a long time in spiritual aridity. Effeminate, sentimental dispositions are repugnant to him; he hates the caresses and sentimentality which arise between intimate friends. False sympathy cannot influence him to neglect his duties or abandon his principles. On the other hand, this lack of sympathy has its great disadvantages. The choleric can be extremely hard, heartless, and even cruel in regard to the sufferings of others. He can cold-bloodedly trample upon the welfare of others, if he cannot otherwise reach his goal.

Self Awareness Series: The Sanguine
Knowledge is power I believe! There are some kinds of knowledge you acquire that settles your worries on some issues - for life! Relationships get frustrating when couples, friends parents do not get to Know who they are dealing with. Business, Religious and Social Organisations crumble because of the failure of leader to understand the personalities behind their team and maximize them for the growth of their organization.
In our self awareness series, we will be giving credence and amplitude to the discovery of the traditional psychologist and physicians. Our First consideration is the Sanguine.
Sanguine:
The Sanguine is a very social person who likes to be with people. Of all the temperaments, the Sanguine is the easiest to be around socially. They are outgoing, handshaking, and quick to make friends. They bring life and energy into a room by their very presence. Perhaps you can remember some people you've met in that category. Their cheerfulness and humor brighten everywhere they are present. They are an optimistic type of person who believes life is an exciting and fun-filled experience that should be lived to the fullest and when they have nothing to do, they can be restless. The Sanguine is the most impulsive of all the temperaments.
The Sanguine excels in communication and socially oriented things, but they when it comes to tasks, they can be uninteresting. They are the least disciplined and organized of all the temperaments. While they are outgoing, enthusiastic, warm, compassionate, and seem to relate well to other people’s feelings, yet they can be rude and uncaring. They tend not to be faithful nor loyal friends, since they do not want to be “burdened down” with commitments; they just want to have fun.
They have tendencies to live as though they have no past or future, the Sanguine rarely learns from their past mistakes. They are prone to exaggerate. They never recognize their failures, but exaggerate to make themselves appear to be more successful than they truly are. The Sanguine’s major weakness is that they adopt severe and destructive behavior.
This person will volunteer for difficult tasks and they can and will complete the project so long as their ego is being fed. However, at the first sign indicating that they are not “the greatest thing that ever happened to the world,” the quit! They just stop and walk away and inwardly turn into themselves - caring nothing about the project or those depending upon them. They just want to be the cynosure and the focus of everybody.
Easily devastated if not constantly reassured they are loved and appreciated. Very demanding of other people for love and affection, plagued with feelings of jealousy when the love and attention they feel belongs exclusively to them is given to others.
SUMMARY
Friendly, outgoing, inspiring to others, relationship oriented, enthusiastic, warm, optimistic, ability to see the bright side of life and the good in other people. They genuinely like people, are rarely found alone, and freely interact with people.
Talkative, always the center of the conversation, apt to take on behavior and morals of the people around them, impulsive, undisciplined, rude, prone to exaggerate, need to appear successful (even to the point of exaggeration), will ignore responsibilities in order to be with people.
Lacking persistence and weak-willed, Solicitous, caring person who will do things for other people, almost to the point of servitude. A very charming, gracious person. Takes on responsibilities and makes decisions very well (to a point).
Able to express and receive large amounts of love and affection. They are warm and easy to get to know and emotionally open.

Where Did All the Money Go?
Hmmm... I'm sure you will really want to know where money has been hiding all this while.
It will amaze you to know that every currency produced haven't left the planet earth. Aliens had never been reported on CNN to have come rob the planet earth at any time. Then the question remains, Where did all the money go and why the scarcity in money circulation?
The truth is that in a country like Nigeria, there are individuals whose wealth is worth that of some African nations. So you will agree with me that the money we seek can be found with people. An armed robber clearly understands this fact and believes he can get the money he needs when he uses some forceful medium. The beggar on the street understands this fact and so doesn't go and beg the trees for money. Instead, he stays at the corner of the street begging to get his share. Very interesting, isn't it?
Wow! I just feel like staying here on this point. So we could take some good time in meditation. "The Money you need and will ever need resides in the hand of people". Since we now agree that money doesn't leave the earth, it then means that all that happens is just Wealth Transfer.
Hmmm! Now see this truth; wealth isn't just transfered to you because it must keep circulating, it is transferred in response to your ability to attract it. Those who steal lack the ability to attract money hence they break the principle of money attraction.
Hear the good news: No matter how tight-fisted a man is, his stingy nature will always submit to the law of value and reward. In essence, money flows from a solution seeker to a solution giver.
Now here is another interesting angle to this discourse. When we talk about solution provision, we are not always referring to the production of commodities to meet human needs. The fact that some people have thought about trading in goods before they could meet human needs has handicapped them from even getting involved in the process of value creation. Have you ever considered that every human loves to be honored? Or have you noticed that everyone wants to be loved? And if closely observed, you will see that these seemingly light areas of human needs are mostly ignored. What is that thing that makes a man eager to give out some cash when he is honoured? What is that thing that makes God go extra mile in His mercy when he is maximally praised? Good character and conducts amongst men can be your biggest commodity that will settle your bills for life! Let's hold on here for now.

SELF KNOWLEDGE
Know Yourself
In Ancient Greece, the philosopher Socrates famously declared that the unexamined life was not worth living. Asked to sum up what all philosophical commandments could be reduced to, he replied: ‘Know yourself.’
Knowing yourself has extraordinary prestige in our culture. It has been framed as quite literally the meaning of life.
This sounds, when one hears it, highly plausible, yet so plausible it’s worth pausing to ask a few more questions. Just why is self-knowledge such a prestigious good? What are the dangers that come with a lack of self-knowledge? And what do we in fact need to know about ourselves? How do we come to learn such things? And why is self-knowledge difficult to attain?
1. What is the purpose of my life
What are you trying to achieve with your life. Fast forward to the end of your life and ask yourself what you would like to be remembered for when it’s all done. What difference would you like to have made? What contribution would you like to have made to your family, friends, community etc.? Once you know your purpose, your purpose should then shape your goals and everyday actions, allowing you to create the life you want to live.
Have you heard of Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren? Maybe you should just go read that.
2. What are my values?
Values are personal qualities and characteristics. They are like rules for life which guide your decision making in the most crucial moments. Sadly, values are often forgotten but when you live in contradiction to your values, you will struggle to be happy. For example, if you value honesty, how would you feel about stealing money from somebody else in order to buy something you want?
In all likelihood, you would be completely opposed to the idea. That is values in action. There are many more potential values which guide you; though they are not all as obvious as that. It is important that you have clarity about your values so that you can make the right choices when it matters most.
3. What really makes me tick?
You can be just about anything you want to be in life but many of your greatest achievements, will require large quantities of effort, commitment and dedication. Always remember that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it’s something that you must really want because if you don’t really want something; you are likely to give up before you achieve your objective.
Therefore, before you set your goals, it is important that you know what makes you tick before you start setting goals which you are not truly motivated to achieve.
4. What do I really want from life?
Life is not all about giving either. You must be able to derive some enjoyment from life and a great deal of this enjoyment will come from the achievement of your goals. We have already covered some of the things you must consider before you set goals, now you must identify the things you would like to be, do and have. When doing so, it is important that you consider all of the important areas of your life so that you can design a well balanced, successful and, stress-free life.
Have trouble setting or achieving goals? Check out books on Goal Setting by Brian Tracy.
5. Am I prepared to change?
Achieving goals and objectives requires a great deal of personal growth and change. However, the element of change is often forgotten. Resistance to change can be one of the biggest factors in failing to achieve your goals. It is a form of self sabotage. Before you set off on your new adventure, it is important to ask yourself ‘Am I prepared to make the necessary changes?’ It is one of the most important but least used personal development questions.
6. What do I like about my life?
There is no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. When you make changes to your life, it is imperative that you only change that which needs to change. To ensure this, regularly take the time to identify and be grateful for the positives in your life. Then, when making plans for self improvement; plan to maintain or increase the things that you like.
7. Have I done enough for myself?
This is another often forgotten, personal development question. This is one that, when you answer honestly, can have a dramatic effect. Sometimes when you fail to achieve a goal; you will have set the right goal and, you will have set the right plan. The problem will be that you have not done everything you could to make it happen.
Often, when we fail to get what we want, we look for someone to blame. Sadly, this often leads us to point the finger at others, rather than accept that we are the source of the problem.
Before you go rushing into new goals and objectives, there are some very important personal development questions that you need to ask yourself. These personal development questions will better enable you to determine where you are in life along with, where you would like to be and what you need to do to get there. The more you understand your life, the greater your chance of success. Ask yourself these personal development questions regularly and you will make better, more effective decision about your life and the actions you need to take.

How Much Do You Cost?
Just like commodities have prices, we humans also have prices, and this is known as Value. Let's come to think of this; What really makes a commodity expensive? Why would some goods be more valued than others? Why would the seller of a commodity jealously watch over some of his goods than others? I'm sure by now some answers would have been surfacing in our minds.
One of such reasons why a commodity might be so expensive is because of the amount of input invested in it before becoming a finished product. If we take a deeper look at it, we will realise that what the manufacturer really charges the consumer for is TIME. The time spent in generating the ideas in it's initial stage, the time expended in drafting down the plans and modalities the ideas will take, the energy and time used in setting up work forces and so on. This then determines the cost at which a buyer will get away with the commodity.
This same principle works when humans are in view. Do you know that your worth as an individual is also commensurate to the Time spent in investing in you? If you were possible for you to be put out on stick, how much would you worth? Funny enough, no one needs to be put out on stock before his truth worth can be revealed. Nature has an impartial way of placing everyone in life in the pedestal fitting for him.
Perhaps you've heard the popular maxim "birds of same feathers flock together". This is a pure and natural truth.
As a young man who has equally observed other young folks, I have come realise that we do not make true progress in life because of our choice of concentration. We have concentrated more on the 'end' at the mercy of the 'means'. Some have grown into preachers who aim at soaring high in ministry but thinking publicities and other packagings will get them there, not knowing all they need is to spend time with God who has called them and they soar high without stress.
This is a sure way of increasing one's value in a competitive world.
How about trying to place our priorities right come 2018?
